Case study
AI Policy Lab, Cabinet Division
Designing the technical setup, sandbox and prototype architecture for an AI Policy Lab, including the AI Project Analyser and the AI-based Policy Performance Analyzer.
Context
Governments increasingly want to use AI to strengthen policy and public administration, but they need safe ways to experiment first. A policy lab with a proper sandbox lets institutions test AI applications on real problems, build internal capability and apply responsible-AI safeguards before anything goes into production.
My Role
As Technology Specialist with the Digital and AI Hub at UNDP Bangladesh, I designed the technical setup, sandbox and prototype architecture for the AI Policy Lab in the Cabinet Division. I also provided architecture review, responsible-AI advisory and quality assurance.
What was built
- Technical setup for the lab environment
- A sandbox in which AI prototypes can be built and tested safely
- Prototype architecture for the lab’s AI applications, including:
- the AI Project Analyser
- the AI-based Policy Performance Analyzer
During the same role I also contributed to the Digital Service Delivery Standards.
Outcome
The AI Policy Lab gives the Cabinet Division a technical foundation for exploring AI in policy work, with prototypes that make the possibilities concrete and responsible-AI advisory built in from the start. It connects to my broader focus on institutional AI capability and AI governance in government.
